Initially trained as a Mechanical Engineer, he has demonstrated an unwavering passion for both physical and mental challenges from a young age. At the age of 9, João began his journey in Karate Goju-Ryu, a martial arts style that emphasizes discipline, control, and precise movements. Over the years, he dedicated himself to training and perfecting his skills in this style, developing athleticism, focus, and resilience. In addition to his dedication to martial arts, João decided to expand his knowledge and understanding of the human mind by becoming a certified Hypnotherapist. He received his training from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and the OMNI Hypnosis Training Center in Ireland. This qualification allows João to help people overcome emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges using therapeutic hypnosis techniques. However, João didn't stop there. He followed his love for the sea and embarked on a new career as a Cruise Sailing Instructor. Certified by the Portuguese Sailing Federation since 2021, he acquired navigation skills and specialized knowledge to lead sailing tours. His goal is to provide visitors with unique experiences on the ocean, exploring breathtaking landscapes and sharing his passion for the sea. To support his experience as a sailor and ensure the safety of everyone on board, João is also a High Seas Captain and holds a seamansbook, a maritime certification. Additionally, he has obtained the STCW (International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) certification in basic safety training for high seas. These credentials reflect his dedication to being prepared for any situation in the maritime environment. Through his new company, Corsair Expeditions, João shares his love for the sea with others, providing exciting and unforgettable tourist sailing trips. His unique combination of skills as a mechanical engineer, hypnotherapist, and sailing instructor makes him a versatile professional capable of offering an authentic and safe maritime experience.
