Owner/crew is also an English speaking expert professional guide, author of Trekking In Turkey from Lonely Planet, so can lead archaeological and cultural walks/hikes/excursions from the boat at no extra charge. Can help with any other travel needs also since he is also a travel agent. Our boat holds the distinguished "Safe Tourism Certificate" attesting to full navigational safety measures and all precautions against Covid19 including disinfection, PCR testing and indoor UV sterilization. This is a very special, unique, seaworthy and well maintained boat with a crew dedicated to make guests happy. The boat winters at Finike Setur Marina in Turkey's Antalya province. Although we can go anywhere time and conditions permitting, our main scope of sailing is mostly the shoreline from Kemer to Gocek or vice versa, and the Greek Isles of Kastelorizo and Ro. This is the Turquoise Coast, with the cleanest waters, least crowds, dozens of wilderness coves, striking and varied natural beauty, lots of archaeological sites to explore and a number of small sleepy seaside villages/hamlets to visit. Itineraries are custom made according to guests interests, the time they have at hand and the boats positioning. In a 1-week itinerary, ambitous guests can see/visit Phaselis, Olympos, Chimaera, Porto Genovese, Sazak Cove, Sulu Ada Island, Cape Gelidonya, Kekova Sound, Simena (Kalekoy), Aperlai, Patara, Myra, 7-Capes, Burguncuk, Gemiler Island, Fethiye Bay and the many marvelous coves of Gocek and Gocek Lagoon. With a couple of extra days or substitutions, we can also go to the Greek Islands of Kastellorizo (Megisti) and Ro. Right from your boat, kayaking inside the Blue Grotto in Megisti is truly remarkable. You can take various nature hikes with sublime vistas of the sea-scape and optional nomadic visits, explore fantastic ruins, take a Scansaille-car ride to the top of Tahtali Dag - the Lycian Mt.Olympos, snorkel over sunken ruins at Aperlai, kayak up a spring-fed creek to see a hidden ancient Greek temple for Apollo, visit Patara and Myra where St.Nicholas (a.k.a Santa Claus) was born, see a modern Greek ghost-town, enjoy a local village family lunch with a house visit, dive in the sparkling clear waters of Kas. OR, of course, you may choose to just chill out and enjoy the boat, swim, eat, drink, have fun wth your friends and just rest and go nowhere. Our motto is guest satisfaction. We always look for the cleanest waters, private or least crowded coves and the most beautiful scenery. Our prices include full board meals. We have an excellent cook who prepares gourmet local dishes always from fresh ingredients. Our meals are complete, varied, well balanced and plentiful. Bottled drinking water, tea, coffee and juice with breakfasts are included in the price, drinks are extra. Our marine heritage comes from my father-in-law Tosun Sezen with whom we built this boat together in Bodrum in 1999. Tosun was a legendary sponge diver and a marine excavator of the 60's, 70's and 80's. He has sailed all around the Aegean and Meditteranean Seas including the Greek Islands, North Africa, the East Levant diving for sponge and looking for ancient shipwrecks. He built the first decompression chamber in Turkey and saved many lives from the bends. The boats name, Cavur Ali actually means "Ali the Infidel". This is because one of his favorite sailors, Ali, was a very hard worker. Back in those days Islamic Turks in Bodrum were quite lazy. Since Ali was a very hard worker he was nicknamed Gavur, meaning non-muslim or "infidel". Our boat is named after this Ali.

About me

I'm 64. Worked as a pioneer researcher guide, agent, tour operator specializing in small group adventre travel in Turkey for over 40 years. I love peace, nature, people, sailing, diving, swimming, kayaking, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, archaeology, cultural interaction, gastronomy. I've been a sailor since 1999. Prior to that I was mostly a mountain person in USA's Yosemite National Park. Built my custom 20-meter teak motor/sailing boat in 1999 in Bodrum\Turkey togther wth my father-in-law who is a legendary sponge diver and marine excavator. Best part I like about sailing is the peace it brings and meeting new guests that often lead to new friendships. I like sharing my country with foreign travelers and I feel we offer the best itineraries full of good life.
