A few miles from the most "in" places in the Mediterranean, the Iles d'Hyères (also known as Iles d'Or or Porquerolles Islands) are an oasis of tranquility and beauty, where nature has been preserved also thanks to strict regulations, including no camping and no smoking. Eight kilometers long by two and a half wide, about thirty inhabitants, a petanque field in the town square, a few small bars serving local wine, a pastis as an aperitif. And then white sandy beaches, crystal clear sea, the scent of pines, lavender and eucalyptus, 70 kilometers of paths to discover on foot or by bicycle. The beaches are of dazzling Mediterranean beauty. The most accessible and sheltered are found on the northern side of the island, characterized by a more gentle landscape. La Courtade is the closest beach to the town, a pearl that is easily accessible and therefore more popular. The cycle paths and trails allow you to explore the island, perhaps by renting a bicycle or a tandem near the port. We set off to discover the interior, on dirt roads and paths among the rocks, among rows of eucalyptus trees, maritime pine woods, vineyards, rocks overhanging the sea. The vegetation includes 156 wild species, one of which is present only here. 163 species of birds live on the island. From the nineteenth-century lighthouse, to the south of the island, the view is splendid. It is a sailing cruise suitable for everyone, no experience is required, just a pinch of adventurous spirit and passion for the sea. You will be able to practice sailing and navigation, you will be guided by an expert sailing instructor who will teach you to navigate in complete safety.
