“Rosa dei Venti” (“Wind Rose” in English) has been uniquely designed to operate most of the time by using renewable resources and clean energy. It’s an eco-friendly boat. It is energy-wise self-sufficient without using noisy and non-eco-friendly diesel generators. Sailors will enjoy the magic of silence, which only such a purist sailboat can offer, without sacrificing anything of the amenities and comforts at sea. Away from the harbor, the boat uses solar energy and large batteries to power all the domestic electric appliances, such as coffee machines, microwaves, ice makers, tv, DVD etc. It can produce its own water using the water maker, thus eliminating the need for reaching harbors for water supply. Four large refrigerators/freezers can provide sufficient capacity for many days and even the air/cons can be periodically operated with the batteries. Attention to detail has been paid in every aspect in order to support the safety and easiness of operation at anchor. There is an oversized anchoring system, which can provide maximum safety when anchoring. In addition, the boat is equipped with a large dinghy carrying 30hp outboard, capable of covering longer distances easily when anchoring off-harbor. When it’s time for relaxation, there are large and comfortable mattresses at the front, the roof-top, and the rear of the boat. Dimmable cockpit lights and underwater lights create a romantic atmosphere at night. “Rosa dei Venti” brings a new level of comfort and innovative eco-friendly solutions to the sailing experience, making your holidays truly memorable. Konstantinos is a highly experienced certified sailing instructor and professional skipper, graduate of the department of Physical Education and Sports Science of the University of Athens, with numerous participations and trophy winnings in sailing regattas. A lifelong boater of Kalymnian origin, he fell in love with the sea from a very young age. He spent his free time developing his boat handling skills along with local fishermen and sailors in the island and realized that he would spend his life on the water. At the age of ten, he tried sailing for the first time and discovered a passion that would consume him ever since; growing from avid dinghy sailor to accomplished offshore racer and cruiser. He has steered yachts of several types and sizes throughout the Aegean and the Ionian Sea and gained extensive local knowledge of the Greek waters. Although later he purchased a successful career in finance, he never gave up sailing and kept working simultaneously as a sailing instructor. After retiring from the corporate world, he started working full time as a skipper again and indulged in charter boating. Thanks to his strong financial and banking background and over 20 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibilities and duties, he works efficiently in a multi-tasking environment and is committed to excellence and world-class customer service. Guest feedback says he is an excellent captain and host with an enthusiastic welcome for all guests. He remains calm in all situations and patient with guests at all levels of sailing experience. He and his family have grown to enjoy the sense of independence, freedom and adventure that go hand in hand with sailing.
