About the experience

Jana is a beautiful—and very comfortable—Bavaria 44 built in 2004, but completely refitted in 2023.

It's the four-cabin version: three double cabins and the smaller one with two (comfortable) bunk beds.
All cabins are well-equipped with wardrobes and shelves.
There are two bathrooms: one forward and one aft, both with showers and electric toilets.

The dinette is beautiful: comfortable and refined with plenty of seating, a dining table, and a galley. The galley—along the wall—is well-equipped with two burners, an oven, and a large refrigerator.

There are two water tanks on board, with a total capacity of 360 liters; the fuel tank holds 210 liters.

Jana has a tender with a 4-horsepower outboard motor.

We're in Cagliari, Sardinia, an ancient and beautiful land—this is well known—and there are countless places where you can stop to admire the pristine and captivating nature as well as—beyond the city—small towns offering delicious restaurants worth discovering during our sails along the coast.

From Cagliari, it's just a short dip in the crystal-clear waters of nearby Villasimius or a short sail to other equally beautiful and captivating locations in southern Sardinia.

You can choose between day trips, for an unforgettable day of sea, sun, and sailing, or even for an aperitif or a sunset dinner amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Golfo degli Angeli.

If you'd like to dedicate more time to relaxation, you can decide to spend a fantastic week among breathtaking coves and pristine beaches along the extraordinary Sardinian coast.

In any case, on Jana, everything is designed to be comfortable, functional, and perfectly efficient.

You can sunbathe on the spacious and comfortable sundecks, or relax in the shade of the comfortable seats under the large and beautiful awning.

You will be greeted by an experienced captain—who will accompany you safely as you discover the wonders of the Sardinian sea—and by an English-speaking hostess who will ensure your stay on Jana is as relaxing as possible.

Jana's nautical base is Marina del Sole at Molo di S. Elmo, very close to the center of Cagliari and easily accessible.

    Being on board Carlo and Anna's boat was one of those experiences that stays in your memory — not only because of the blue sea of Sardinia, but also because of the warm welcome we received. Carlo (despite his creative Portuguese ?) is a true sea dog — confident, fun and always attentive. Anna, sweet and always ready to help, made us feel at home from the very first minute. We spent days diving, enjoying stunning landscapes, having a good time… and the occasional unexpected splash that only made it all the more memorable! Grazie di cuore, Carlo and Anna!     Carlo and Anna were an absolute pleasure to boat with all day! The boat was extremely clean and comfortable and my husband and I had the most wonderful day exploring the island. They had snorkels on board and we even got to use their paddle board. Additionally, they made us a full meal onboard that included snacks, appetizers, dessert, coffee and alcoholic beverages. It was all so delicious. We were so relaxed that when we weren’t in the water, we were dozing off on the sundeck! We plan on making this trip to Cagliari more frequently and we will 100% be returning to sail with Anna and Carlo. The cherry on top was getting to hang out and exchange stories with them after our charter. I couldn’t recommend this boat and duo more to people. We’ll always remember our honeymoon fondly because of this day!

    Carlo and Anna were the most wonderful and accommodating hosts. Their communication and hospitality was excellent. The boat was in immaculate condition with plenty of room for us and our two young kids. Thank you so much Anna and Carlo. Our time sailing on Jana will remain a very special memory for our whole family.

    Mainsail broken, sailing was not possible. Communication with the skipper was not possible, only through his wife. When you book a sailing trip, I expect that they check beforehand whether the sail can be set. Would not recommend it. We gave up after 2 hours. Not justified for the price

    We were a party of 4- me, my husband, and our son&his wife travelling from Australia for 3 nights of 5 nights in Sardinia. The boat Jana was lovely. Carlo&Anna take pride and maintain it well. Communication was responsive. However we were surprised about a week before arrival to be told that we would have to provision it ourselves, after previously being told that it would be provisioned for us (not ideal as we were arriving from overseas). Our greatest disappointment was on our arrival at the boat, to be told by Carlo and Anna had invited a friend of their's on our trip. He was already installed and sitting at the table. We were given no warning of this. Our expectation and contracted arrangements were to be our party of 4 plus a crew of 2, on a 44ft boat. Having an additional person greatly altered the dynamic on the boat, and also limited the space particularly as the 4th berth had been promised for our bags, and now somebody else was sleeping in it. We raised our disappointment at the unexpected arrangements, requesting that our contracted arrangements be honoured. This was denied. We were told that their friend was not going to leave. We were told that we could cancel our arrangement immediately and be refunded. This was not an option as we had to be at our destination for a wedding in 3 days; our provisions were already loaded in the galley; and as we were in a foreign country it would be difficult to find alternate arrangements at such short notice. There was also no offer to reimburse a portion of our fee as we were now effectively paying for a stranger's cruise. With no other real choice we shared our holiday with a stranger, which made for an uncomfortable trip in close confinement, and ruined what should otherwise have been a lovely relaxing holiday on the beautiful waters of Sardinia. We don’t like to leave a review like this, but strongly recommend you specifically ask about strangers joining your trip when booking this boat, and ensure that all contracted/promised arrangements are delivered.
