Boat rental in Punta Ala · Comar — Genesi 43 (1992)
Description of Tommaso's sailboat
Comar - Genesi 43 | 2 Cabins
The Genesi 43 is a 13-meter sloop designed by architect Vallicelli in the early 1990s. It's a racing boat, heavily rigged with a rather imposing mast (18 meters), yet comfortable both on and below deck. It has three cabins, including one for the owner, and two bathrooms. The dinette offers all the classic amenities of a cruising boat, a highly functional galley, and a large sofa. The chart table with all the instruments for boat management and navigation completes the layout. The boat has all the basic equipment and has been enhanced over time with accessories that make it even safer and more comfortable (from additional instruments such as AIS and touch-screen charts to kitchen and cleaning components). The boat was built in 1992 and in 2018 underwent a major refit of every component, down to the mast and teak deck. In 2023/2024, the rig was redone (a new, rather powerful racing mainsail) and the engine was brought back to zero hours. The Galatea has been sailing in the archipelago for nearly her entire thirty-year life. She is well known in all the ports of Elba, northern Corsica, and Capraia, all the way to Giglio and Giannutri. A week-long vacation would be ideal for visiting northern Corsica, and in two weeks you could even consider sailing the entire Corsican island—a truly magnificent experience, with a truly authentic sea. I purchased the Galatea two years ago after "courting" her for a long time. I immediately fell in love with her elegant manner, both cruising and at anchor (she's always the most beautiful in any port with her blue hull), but we've already participated in a few offshore races (the "long" ones in the Tyrrhenian Sea) with noteworthy performances. In these early years together, we ventured all the way to the Balearics, sailing over 1,500 miles in a summer of swimming, sun, and chilled wine. I've been sailing for school, as a skipper, and for pleasure with my girlfriend and friends for over twenty years, and I've had a home in Punta Ala for over 40. I know every corner of the archipelago and enjoy sharing these places with people who want to venture out in company, enjoying plenty of high-quality sailing and, why not, catching some tasty tuna on board.
