We depart from the port of Trapani in the late afternoon, sailing along the western coast of Levanzo, the smallest and wildest of the Aegadian Islands. The speed slows, the outlines of Favignana and Marettimo begin to emerge on the horizon, and time begins to slow down. We'll stop in coves that seem hand-painted: Cala Fridda, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters, and Cala Minnola, a little corner of paradise nestled in the rock, for a rejuvenating swim before the moment that gives this excursion its name: an aperitif in Cala Minnola, with a glass of wine or Prosecco from local wineries, accompanied by toasted almonds, snacks, and savory Sicilian specialties, just as the sun touches the horizon.
