The average temperature at this time is 23°C, perfect for swimming and enjoying the rush of the sea breeze. If you want to avoid large crowds, it might be best to visit in May or September, avoiding the summer months. You’ll still have warm weather and you’ll also get better deals on Antibes yacht charters!

What can I see and do while on a yacht charter in Antibes?

There’s so much to see and do around Antibes, and the best way to take advantage of everything that this gorgeous area has to offer is with a private boat charter in Antibes. Here are some of our favourite activities and attractions to add to your sailing itinerary.

  • Go diving: The Bay of Cannes offers excellent visibility and is known for its peaceful waters and abundant marine life. It's also home to several wrecks, including the RMS Olympic, which was sunk in 1928. For those who want to explore some of the deeper depths of Antibes, the Cap d'Antibes is a great option. Here, you'll find caves and underwater canyons that are home to an array of different species including sea horses and barracudas. The area is also known for its stunning coral formations which provide an incredible backdrop for an unforgettable dive experience.
  • Sunbathe on some of the best beaches in Europe: There are many things to do in Antibes, but one of the best things to do is visit the beaches. One of the most popular beaches in Antibes is Plage de la Salis, and it's easy to see why. This sandy beach is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing and with its crystal-clear waters, it's perfect for snorkelling. Other popular beaches in Antibes include Plage de la Garoupe and Plage de Ponteil, a smaller beach with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. If you want more than a lazy beach day, all of the beaches offer opportunities to practise watersports like kitesurfing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding.
  • Sail around the French Riviera: Renting a yacht in Antibes gives you the freedom to explore nearby destinations like the luxurious city of Cannes, the quaint city of Nice or even the flashy micronation of Monaco!
  • Explore islands: There are several small islands located just off the coast of Antibes, and the most popular island is Île Sainte-Marguerite. It is home to the Fort de Sainte-Marguerite. If you're looking for something a bit more adventurous, you can sail over to Île de Porquerolles, the largest of the three Îles d'Hyères. This island is known for its wild landscapes and crystalline water, and it's a great place to go hiking, biking or kayaking. There are also some lovely beaches to relax on.

Should I have a skipper on board my private yacht rental in Antibes?

Regardless of whether or not you have a licence to sail, we always recommend choosing a vessel with a skipper on board. Skippers enhance your sailing experience because they are nautical experts that will dock, anchor and navigate the vessel for you, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. They can also answer any questions you have about Antibes since they are usually locals of the area. If you want to see everything on your sailing itinerary and more, choose a skippered vessel for your Antibes yacht rental!

What type of boat should I choose for my boat charter in Antibes?

The type of vessel you choose for your Antibes yacht rental will depend on the amenities you think you’ll need. If you only plan to sail for a few days, a RIB or a motorboat should be sufficient for getting you to where you need to go. For a longer holiday with family or friends, you should opt for a weekly charter such as a catamaran, yacht or houseboat. They will have everything you need for comfortable living on board such as a kitchen, bathroom and cabins.

If you’re an avid sailor and you like to sail for sport, you might prefer a sailboat. These vessels are great for a traditional sailing experience however you should always rent one with a skipper since they can be quite tricky to navigate.
