Departure at 10:00 from the mouth of the Magra River, where you can immediately admire the beautiful landscape of the Montemarcello Natural Park with its charming coves. After the bridge, keep to the right of the river until the mouth, and once outside, head right to reach the ancient fishing village of Tellaro, considered one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. After passing through splendid inlets like Fiascherino, Maralunga, and l’Eco del Mare, we will arrive at the picturesque bay of Lerici with its castle and beaches. A first stop in one of these bays is recommended for a refreshing swim. The tour will continue towards the pearl of the Gulf: the fascinating PORTOVENERE! Located opposite Lerici, in an inlet that separates the mainland from Palmaria Island, this ancient fishing village will take your breath away. Admiring the "Palazzata a Mare" from the sea, a series of tall, narrow buildings facing the horizon, is a unique experience; the different widths of the facades, the uneven heights, and the pastel colors create a unique spectacle for northern Italy. The Doria Castle, the ancient church of San Pietro, and Byron's Grotto, located in a suggestive inlet, will conclude this first part of the tour. Anchored in the bay of Portovenere, you can have lunch peacefully in an always calm sea. After lunch, we will depart to discover the three islands, passing through the Portovenere Strait and keeping to the left. We will start our tour with Palmaria Island, the largest of the Ligurian islands, characterized by high cliffs, numerous caves, and remnants of marble quarries where the precious Portoro marble was extracted. Behind Palmaria Island are two smaller islands, Tino Island and Tinetto Island. IT IS FORBIDDEN TO PASS BETWEEN TINO AND TINETTO ISLANDS DUE TO EMERGING ROCKS. Tino Island is a natural reserve and military area, thus not accessible to the public and free from buildings. Tinetto Island, the smallest and furthest from the mainland, still preserves the ruins of a 6th-century oratory and a two-nave church, built until the 11th century and then destroyed by the Saracens. At the end of the island tour, behind Palmaria Island, you will find a bay with always calm sea where you can take another refreshing swim. Crossing the gulf, we will return to the Magra River, keeping to the left until the bridge to reach the docking area.
