"Sunset boat tour of Nice which began after sunset!" We were very dissatisfied with our tour which started late (so we had a boat ride in the dark), an unclean boat and involved hidden charges. ⁃ (1.) EMBARKATION PORT & FEE: We had a confirmed booking in writing for embarkation from The Port of Nice. However, a week before we were informed that the rental would begin at the Port of St. Laurent du Var and we would need to pay an embarkation fee of €30 for departure & return (€60 total). ⁃ We explained that the agreed rental was from The Port of Nice and that no one had ever mentioned an additional embarkation fee. ⁃ We were told that the money went to the Port and not to the boat owner, and that we could embark from Nice but the fee would be €60 both ways (€120 total) which was confirmed in writing. So the actual total rental was in the end €939 and not the €819 which was agreed in writing. ⁃ Yet it could have been more! On boarding on the boat and handing over the €120 fee, the skipper Julian attempted to ask me for an additional €60. I refused to pay it and showed him the text confirming the amount and, after he phoned someone, he agreed to the €120. This is staggeringly bad way to treat a client before we had even begun the trip. ⁃ (2.) EMBARKATION TIME: I was informed on the day of the rental that it would start 30mins late at 19.30h (7.30pm) but they would add the lost 30mins at the end of the tour. ⁃ We arrived at the Port of Nice way before 19.30h but no boat appeared in the port at the due time. Therefore when it got to 19.35h my husband and I started to message the captain asking where he was. Julian's reply was that he was further delayed as he needed to fill up with fuel and he would arrive soon. He eventually arrived in the Port of Nice at 19.55h (7.55pm) which as the sunset was at 19:48h that day was not only unacceptable but very disappointing for myself and our guests. The sunset which was the purpose of the trip had already happened before we boarded the boat! ⁃ By 21.15h / 9.15pm, as night had fallen and it was dark, we asked Julian to return us to the Port, as due the late start, we had lost an hour of what should have been two hours of daylight and sunset, there was little point in continuing the trip in the dark. ⁃ (3.) UNCLEAN BOAT: The reason for Julian's delayed arrival in the Port of Nice quickly became evident during the first 20mins of our hire, as when we went down into the cabin to change into swimwear we were greeted by the balloons and wet towels from the previous hire! The cabin had not been cleaned. Altogether we were very dissatisfied with the rental as the Sunset Tour which we paid for was not what we received.

Completely untransparent about fuel costs. I was charged €580 for driving at a snail's pace from Nice Olympia to Cap d'Ail, with the explanation that this was the only trip my rental agreement allowed. I've rented boats all my life. When I contacted the so-called owner, he stood by his position. Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointing and misleading experience. I booked this boat for guests visiting me and was extremely embarrassed by what happened. I paid €1,026 online, and the booking page clearly showed only €350 for the skipper to be paid at the port. Only AFTER payment was I told to bring another €580 cash for fuel plus €30 port fees. These amounts were not shown in my booking. I repeatedly asked how the €580 fuel charge was calculated (litres and price/litre) but received no clear calculation. Although the booking was for 4 hours and we reduced the actual outing to about 2 hours, I was told the €580 fuel charge would remain exactly the same. Before departure, €500 cash was paid toward fuel. After the boat had already departed with my guests, pressure was put on them to immediately pay the remaining €80 or the boat would turn back. This was extremely embarrassing. I was also asked to sign a transport document, but I refused because I could not find the €580 clearly documented as fuel consumption or transparently calculated. Most importantly, the boat provided was NOT the boat I understood I had booked from the listing photos. I was only sent a video saying “Your boat” shortly before departure, after I had already paid and could no longer realistically cancel without risking my €1,026. The scheduled departure was 1:00 PM. I notified the skipper at 12:35 that we would be 15–20 minutes late and he agreed. We arrived around 1:15, yet the boat was still not there; at 1:39 the skipper messaged that he was only then coming into the port. Hospitality was also extremely limited: essentially water and four Cokes, no fruit and no ice, so I purchased refreshments myself for my guests. The skipper Valentin was kind, helpful and professional, and my criticism is not directed at him. My issue is the provider’s lack of transparency: different boat, substantial charges disclosed after payment, unexplained €580 fuel cost, additional €30 fee and poor organization. 2 hours trip cost us 1956€, the agreed price was around 1400€. I would not book with this provider again. Future customers should get the exact boat, fuel cost, skipper fee, port fees and FINAL TOTAL confirmed in writing BEFORE paying.
